The Challenge
The office was located in a narrow, elongated room separated from the rest of the office by a frosted glass partition. The goal was to design a furniture layout that would make optimal use of the space, provide a comfortable workspace by the window, and at the same time maintain a professional, understated character befitting an executive office.
Corner Desk and Work Area
The centerpiece of the office is a corner desk with a light oak top, mounted on a black frame. The corner design maximizes the work surface without taking up unnecessary space in the narrow room. We placed the desk by a window with blinds, so the workspace benefits from natural light for most of the day.
Low cabinet and storage system
Next to the desk, we designed a low cabinet with open shelves in the same shade of oak and black as the desk—the consistency in materials makes the entire office furnishings look like a single, well-thought-out set rather than a collection of random pieces of furniture. The open shelves provide space for documents and accessories to keep within easy reach, without visually overwhelming the small space.
Office Chair and Interior Design
The setup is complemented by an office chair with black upholstery, which harmonizes with the black structural elements of the furniture. The entire ensemble fits seamlessly into the office’s subdued color scheme—the suspended ceiling, light-colored walls, and frosted glass partition create a calm, work-focused backdrop for the furniture.
