A Tale of One Desk – a realization for the Lodz University of Technology

There are realizations that stay with us for a long time – not just as an entry in the portfolio, but as a story of meeting people, ideas and material. Such was the case with the Technical University of Lodz. We had the pleasure of furnishing two offices at this university – spaces for work, thought and decisions. Today we are telling about one of them – an office where stood a desk that on the surface looks like any other… but is not like that at all.

When the client has a vision – we make it happen

It started, as it often does, with discussions. The client – along with the design office – chose our desk from the Future Active Style collection. Sleek, modern form, minimalist design, wood and metal – everything we like. But then a suggestion was made: what if we added something else? Something that would break the regularity and at the same time increase the functionality of the furniture?

Unusual form – a circular delivery box

That’s how the idea of a circular delivery was born. It surprised and pleased us at the same time. We are known for simple lines, cubist forms that easily fit into different interiors. But we don’t lock ourselves in this framework. If there is potential in a project – we grab the tools and act.

Two colors, two worlds – one cohesive effect

The extension, which joined the classic desk, completely changed its character. Suddenly, an ordinary workplace gained a new dimension – a space for conversation, for meetings, for a moment of respite with a cup of coffee. The main top remained in natural wood color – warm, bright, friendly. We covered the extension with oil-wax in the shade of ebony – deep, noble, contrasting. Two colors, two textures, two ways of looking at the same material.

A desk that tells a story

The effect? Excellent. The desk looks modern, but with a touch of individualism. Functionally – not to be underestimated. Aesthetically – it is memorable. It’s no longer just a piece of furniture – it’s the center of the office, the point around which everyday life revolves.

It’s the customers who push us forward

Such projects remind us why we love what we do. It’s not just about wood, steel or oil-wax. It’s about people who have a vision, and the opportunity to be part of that vision. We’re open to ideas, ready to change, and constantly learning. And our customers? They are the ones – their needs, ideas and dreams – that drive our growth

Lodz University of Technology, thank you for your trust!

My name is Paulina. By education I am an art historian, by passion – a lover of design and people. I am fascinated by how a piece of furniture can become more than just an object – it can accompany us in our daily work, support, inspire and even tell a story. I believe in a holistic approach to design – one where form, function and emotion matter.
