Furniture care

The oak countertop is coated with natural oil wax, resistant to stains. You can order a sample of the countertop through the store so you can judge the color in reality.

Wipe oiled countertops clean of dust with a slightly dampened cloth without using detergents. However, oiled wooden countertops require proper care and attention. It is necessary to avoid spilling liquid on the countertop. If the situation arises, wipe dry immediately. The use of cup pads is recommended. We protect 90% of our furniture with natural oil wax.

– in case of scratches or stains, it’s easy to renew the worktop at home
– oil emphasizes the natural color of the wood

Repeat treatment:

Wooden countertops for maintaining the best effect are worth oiling from time to time. The process involves applying a small amount of oil to the countertop with a sponge or cotton cloth. It takes only a few minutes but keeps the countertop in excellent condition.

Renovation:

Every wooden piece of furniture requires maintenance once in a while. Its purpose is to refresh the appearance or repair light damage like scratches.

What to do in case of staining, for example, with paint or scratches?

Oiled wooden countertops are very practical in this regard. If damaged, they can be reconditioned. All you have to do is rub off the top with sandpaper and reapply the oil. After such treatment, the countertop will be like new.

For this process we will use the repair kit available in our online store, which includes:

  • spray cleaner,
  • Top-Oil 3058,
  • pad handle,
  • non-woven fabric for application,
  • sanding cloth

In addition, we recommend getting sandpaper with 220 and 400 gradations on a sponge and 1000 for smoothing the surface. Each operation (sanding/painting/rubbing) should be done along the lamellae.

  1. Abrade the whole oak piece with sandpaper of 220 gradation, then 400 and 1000
  2. Collect the resulting sanding dust preferably with a dry cloth or paper towel.
  3. After wiping off the dust, you can proceed with oiling. We use the pad included in the kit to apply the oil. You can also replace the pad with a roller or a scrubbing sponge.
  4. After painting, let the parts dry (on average from 4-6 hours depending on temperature and humidity). After this treatment, the office is like new. We recommend using the spray cleaner a few days after the last maintenance of the wooden countertop.

Using a repair kit increases the life of your wooden countertop.

What is the warranty period?

The warranty period is 2 years, or 7 years with annual paid service.

An ordinary eraser is all that is needed to remove a pen stain from a wooden tabletop. A white eraser works best to avoid leaving additional marks on the wood surface.

Oak wood is characterized by its high hardness and density, which makes it extremely durable for daily use. However, regular maintenance is required to maintain its beauty.

An oak countertop, when properly cared for and protected, is an investment for years. Its natural beauty and durability make it valued both in kitchens and offices. However, it is worth remembering to protect it regularly and avoid contact with water to enjoy its aesthetics for a long time.

Avoid excess water: Wood does not tolerate excessive moisture, so avoid washing countertops under running water or using a very wet cloth.

Use soft cloths: Use soft rags or cloths to clean so as not to damage the wood surface.

Cleaning along the grain: When cleaning, always direct your movements along the grain of the wood to avoid disturbing the surface structure.

Immediate drying: After cleaning, wipe the countertop dry immediately to prevent the wood from absorbing moisture.

We do not recommend placing the desk directly next to a radiator. Prolonged exposure to high temperatures and dry air can adversely affect the wood, causing it to dry out, crack or warp. It is best to keep a safe distance from heat sources.

Usually regular vacuuming with a soft brush or wiping with a slightly damp (well squeezed) microfiber cloth is enough. For heavier dirt, you can use special wood care products according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Excessive water and aggressive detergents should be avoided.

Everyday:

  • Soft, dry cloth or microfiber cloth: For regular removal of dust and fine dirt. Always wipe along the grain of the wood.
  • Slightly damp cloth: For heavier dirt, you can use a slightly dampened (very well wiped) soft cloth. Always wipe the countertop dry after wiping.

Larger dirt:

Special preparations for wood: There are special products available on the market for cleaning and care of wooden countertops. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

Mild detergent: you can use a small amount of mild dish liquid diluted in water. Apply the solution to a cloth, squeeze well and wipe the soiled area. Then wipe with a clean, damp cloth and dry thoroughly.

In order to clean furniture fronts without streaks, regardless of the material, it is worth following a few universal rules and possibly adapting them to the specifics of the front (e.g. matte, glossy, wooden):

General rules for cleaning fronts without streaking:

  1. Use a soft cloth: The best will be a microfiber cloth that does not scratch the surface and collects moisture well. Avoid rough sponges and scourers.
  2. Slightly damp cloth: The cloth must not be too wet so as not to leave streaks. Squeeze it out well.
  3. Wipe dry: After washing the front with a damp cloth, immediately wipe it with a dry, clean microfiber cloth. This is a key step in preventing streaks.
  4. Movements when cleaning: Try to wipe the fronts evenly, making longitudinal movements in line with the direction of the wood grain or in one continuous direction on uniform surfaces.
  5. Avoid aggressive agents: Strong detergents, solvents, abrasives can damage fronts and contribute to streaking or dulling.
  6. Respond quickly to stains: Fresh stains are easier to remove without leaving a residue.
